We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.   • Social Account Data — when you connect a social media account (such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or X/Twitter), we access the information and permissions you authorize through that platform's official OAuth flow. This may include your platform username, profile details, and the ability to publish content on your behalf.
  • Content Data — the posts, captions, images, and videos you create, upload, or schedule through Postbuddy.
  • Technical Data — IP address, login data, browser type and version.
  • Usage Data — information about how you use our website and services.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to operate Postbuddy: to create and manage your account, to publish and schedule the content you create to the social accounts you connect, to display your connected account information back to you, to improve our service, and to communicate with you about your account. We only use your data for the purposes described in this policy.

4. Third-Party Platform Integrations

Postbuddy integrates with third-party social media platforms through their official APIs. When you connect an account, you grant Postbuddy permission — through that platform's own secure OAuth consent screen — to access specific data and perform specific actions on your behalf. We request only the minimum permissions needed to provide our service, and we use the data we receive solely to operate the features you request. The data we access from each platform is described below:

  • TikTok — We access your basic profile information (user.info.basic) to display your connected account, and we publish videos you create (video.publish) only when you explicitly choose to post or schedule them. Our use of TikTok information complies with the TikTok Developer Terms of Service, the TikTok Community Guidelines, and TikTok's policies. We do not use TikTok data for any purpose other than the publishing and scheduling features you request.
  • Instagram & Facebook (Meta) — We access your basic profile and Page/business account information to display your connected account and to publish posts, images, and videos you create to the accounts you select. Our use complies with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies. We honor data-deletion requests, including via our Facebook Data Deletion callback.
  • LinkedIn — We access your basic profile information and the permission to share posts on your behalf (e.g. w_member_social) to publish content you create. Our use complies with the LinkedIn API Terms of Use.
  • X / Twitter — We access your basic profile information and the permission to publish posts (tweets) you create. Our use complies with the X Developer Agreement and Policy.

We store the access tokens these platforms issue securely and use them solely to perform the actions you request. We do not access, collect, or store your private messages, contacts, or any data beyond what is necessary to provide our features, and we do not use this data for advertising or to build user profiles. Postbuddy's use and transfer of information received from these platforms adheres to each platform's developer policies, including any applicable Limited Use requirements.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or any data obtained from connected social platforms. We share data only with infrastructure providers that help us operate the service (such as hosting and database providers), and only to the extent necessary to run Postbuddy.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

You can disconnect any social account at any time from your Postbuddy settings, which immediately revokes our access to that platform. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time. To request deletion of your data, visit our Data Deletion page. We retain personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.

7. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered, or disclosed. Access tokens for connected platforms are stored securely, and we limit access to your personal data to those who have a business need to know.
